About La Esperanza

Esperanza is a birding reserve and eco-lodge located in Jardin, Antioquia, a small town on the western Andes of Colombia. Just three hours from Medellín, La Esperanza is strategically located to provided access to regional reserves rich in diversity and endemic species, as well as provide an excellent list on-site for more prolonged observation in a comfortable setting.

Douglas Knapp, owner and administrator of La Esperanza lives on-site to provide great attention to detail in all aspects of the work such as maintaining gardens, cooking, coordinating reforestation efforts and working with the community.
